Red Desk Studio specializes in information design, knowledge management, and business process improvement. My experience in high-tech environments started when the World Wide Web was in its nascent stages, and led to work on software implementation, information development, and content strategy projects. These experiences gave me an understanding in technology evolution, change management, user adoption, and design and development methodologies.
Speaking
I have been a presenter and workshop instructor at the STC Summit, LavaCon, Practical Conference on Communication, BigDesign, and National Speaker Association (Chicago chapter), as well as STC chapters. Topics at these events have included content strategy, change management, documentation practices, user experience, and professional development.
Credentials
I obtained Certified Professional Technical Communicator – Foundation Level certification in April 2016. I am an accredited CPTC trainer with ten+ years experience in developing and delivering training programs. Accreditation is a quality-assessment process to ensure CPTC trainers are competent to train the class, have appropriate background and experience, have demonstrated mastery of the material, and use material that can prepare candidates for the exam. It serves as a quality “seal of approval” on the trainers, course, and materials. I also have experience leading webinars and online training classes and have earned my Certified Online Training Professional (COTP) credentials.
