This class will familiarize individuals with the requirements for CPTC Foundation Certification. We will focus on the nine core skill areas of technical communication, topics included in the certification exam, certification test format, and sample questions.
The class cost includes the exam fee. Upon registration, you can take the exam at the end of class on Sunday afternoon or online at a later day, up to May 7, 2018. If you have been studying on your own, you can sit the paper exam on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday, May 6: 8:30 – 5:00, Sign-in and coffee start at 8:30, class starts promptly at 9:00
Sunday, May 7: 8:30 – 3:30, Exam: 4:00 – 5:00
Special registration rates that include a study packet are available. The Study Packet rate includes the Johnson-Sheehan text used in class and access to online flash cards. The packet also contains the STC Study Guide, available to all candidates via the STC website. Study packets will be shipped priority within two days of receiving registration payment.
Registration fees are separate from Summit registration fees. The registration fee for this class includes:
- Two days of interactive instruction in CPTC Foundation topics
- One sitting of the CPTC Foundation-level certification exam ($250 for current STC members and $495 for non-members). Candidates may take the exam in person at the end of the course, or up to a year later online
- Breakfast, beverages, and morning/afternoon refreshments
- Supplies and materials related to the class (e.g., handouts, pens, notepads, etc.)
The registration fee also includes a complementary STC Education webinar to jumpstart your path towards earning CEUs. The webinar must be completed after you take the exam and between June 1 and December 31, 2017.
The last day to register is April 23, 2017. A minimum of five candidates must be enrolled for the class to be held. If the class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, full refunds will be issued (minus the study packet fee, if ordered).

How to Register
For each registration type, select the number of spaces to reserve. Then, provide information about each attendee for the space. If you order a study packet, please provide the mailing information.
At the bottom of the form, provide information about the person completing the registration.
